What is EERC
Print version

The Economics Education and Research Consortium (EERC) was created in 1995 to strengthen economics education and research capabilities in the CIS. Managed by a Moscow-based secretariat, EERC’s Research Network supports original policy-relevant studies, organizes training seminars and research workshops, links academics and policymakers, and invests in the virtual research infrastructure – access to scholarly literature, data and peers. Since 2000, EERC serves as the regional representative of the Global Development Network (GDN) in the CIS.

Meetings & Events

Meetings are an essential vehicle of networking. Three types of meetings are held, for different audiences. Our database includes detailed information on programs, papers and individual participants of past and future meetings.

Network

EERC’s research network spans most CIS countries, former socialist countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and North America. It includes renowned international scholars and CIS-based researchers whose work meets the quality standards established by the EERC International Advisory Board. In order to better address research and capacity building needs at the local and subregional level, EERC is in the process of transferring its research and capacity building know-how to partners in Central Asia, Western CIS and the Caucasus. Launched in fall 2004, Applied Research Network - Central Asia is the first step in this process of building a reinforcing "network of networks". The website provides more information about current networking initiatives, institutional and individual network members.
